Abstract
231,758. Molins, W. E. July 28, 1924. Dropping-roller and like feeds; sheet-registering devices; sheet-carriers. - Blanks are fed to packet-forming machines, such as described in Specification 1116/11, [Class 94 (ii), Paper bags &c.], by mechanism comprising feed-rollers which grip the blanks and feed them to mechanism adapted to give the blanks a sudden sharp impulse towards the end of its travel into the desired position. The blanks are fed by uniformly rotating rollers 2 and beneath a roller 3 rotating at high speed. A following roller 8 is raised into contact with the roller 3 through the action of a striking-piece 14 on a plunger, which moves levers 13, 10 and elevates the roller when the plunger is clear of the jaws 7. The blank is guided by a channel 16 fitted with narrow strips 17, and is fed against a stop 18, rebound being checked by the ends 19 of the strips 17.
