Abstract
231,500. Pandolfo, J. March 25, 1924, [Convention date]. Hand-iron handles; stands for hand-irons.-U- shaped frames 40, 50, pivoted to the iron 10 at 24, 23 respectively, and connected to one another by a pin-and-slot 38, 44 and a link 55, are moved from the position shown in Fig. 2 to that shown in Fig. 1 upon the release of the handle 26, by a spring 49 coiled around the pivot 24. When the handle is grasped, a portion 29 thereof, pivoted to the main portion at 30, is caused to approach and fit within a longitudinal recess in the main portion, and this movement, through a link 34 and detent element 37, pivoted at 24, swings the U-shaped frames about their pivots against the spring 49 to the inoperative position.
