Abstract

230,767. Hervey, B. E. Dec. 22, 1924. Foot cycles. - A scooter adapted to be propelled either by pushing off from the ground, or by means of a pedal and crank, comprises a main frame formed of two bars 1, 2 off-set at 3, 4 to provide room for the rear wheel 5 and for a sprocket and chain driving-gear 8, 10, actuated by a crank 12 and pedal 13 on one side of the scooter. A sub-frame formed of bars 23, 24 connected to the rear of the main frame supports a platform or foot-board 31 on the other side. The forward ends of the frames are hinged to the steering pillar 19, the front element of each hinge being secured between the bars 18 of the pillar and the rear element between the bars 1, 2 or 23, 24.
