230,707. Gibbs, H. H. July 30, 1924. Haymaking.-The tines L<1> of a swath-turner or side-deliverv rake are carried by spring steel arms L fixed to bearing blocks A. The bearing blocks are mounted on cranks formed in a shaft A extending obliquelv across the direction of motion of the machine and supported at one end in a bearing C<3> carried on the main frame of the machine and at the other end being secured by a universal joint to a short shaft G<2> mounted in bearings in a bracket carried by the main axle C. The shaft G<2> is driven from the main axle through pinions G, G<1>. Rods F extend from the blocks A<1> to pivoted plates E carried by a bar K extending across the machine.
