Abstract
230,503. Akt.-Ges. Brown, Boveri, et Cie. March 10, 1924, [Convention date]. Cut-out arrangements.-In protective devices for high tension networks having earthing coils D, or D1, D2, the coils are normally combined with auxiliary resistances, either an ohmic resistance W, or a spark gap F so that the resultant resistance is either very high or very low, but these auxiliary resistances are automatically cut out by a current or voltage relay R when a leak to earth occurs. In the form shown in Fig. 4, the switch closes on earth leak to short-circuit the spark gap. The spark gap has a disruptive discharge voltage less than that of the network. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect, 91 (3) (a) describes also an arrangement shown in Fig. 5 (Cancelled), in which on the occurrence of a fault the resistance of the neutral point to earth is increased by the automatic opening of the switch S, which, together with the ohmic resistance W, is connected across the earthing coil. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
