Abstract

230,364. Woodhead, G. A. Oct. 7, 1924. Laminar springs.- Relates to laminar springs in which one or more auxiliary or rebound leaves are arranged on the master leaf on the opposite side thereof to the usual supplementary leaves, the auxiliary leaves or some of them being connected at or near their ends to the main portion of the spring so as to take part of the load. The rebound leaves c in a cambered spring are cambered to the same degree as the master leaf a so as normally to lie without stress in uniform contact with the master leaf, and with one another when more than one rebound leaf is used. The clips described in Specification 188,224 are used to connect the rebound leaves to the main portion of the spring. As shown, V-shaped clips d embracing the supplementary leaves b are secured to lugs e integral with the rebound leaves, but this arrangement may be reversed, the clips being secured to lugs integral with the supplementary leaves. A spring comprising a master leaf and rebound leaves with no supplementary leaves is also described.
