Abstract
230,099. Voss, W. Feb. 29, 1924, [Convention date]. Stoppers with valves. - A drop-delivery bottle stopper comprises a tubular member 1, Fig. 1, provided with a head 7 formed with a recess through which projects a tube 8<1>, the tube providing a conduit 7<a> for the passage of liquid from the member 1. A resilient pad 9, disposed in the recess and formed with an orifice 9<a> adapted to co-operate with the conduit 7<a>, projects above the head 7 and presses upwardly a cover 4 having pins &c. 6 which engage in bayonet slots 5, Fig. 5, in the head 7, partial rotation of the cover bringing a discharge orifice 4<a> therein into and out of register with the conduit 7a and orifice 9<a>. Notches 5<a> at the inner ends of the slots 5 secure the cover in its closed position, and its removal is prevented by turning its lower edge beneath the shoulder 2 of the head 7. Manipulation of the cap may be facilitated by rounding off the corners of the slots 5.
