Abstract

Coating - machines. -Objects under water are sprayed with building, protecting, or cleaning materials in solid, liquid, or gaseous form by freeing the object to be treated from water, at the point to be acted on, by means of an air or like blast, and applying the materials through the interior of this space. A device for carrying out the process comprises a nozzle a, surrounded by a bell having an annular aperture c<1> through which compressed air is passed. The. bell may comprise outer and inner casings e<1> and b<1>, the casing e<1> being screwed on to the neck of the casing b' for adjustment of the annular aperture c<1>. Passages f, either direct or inclined, communicate with a hollow space g, through which materials such as trass, water-glass or the like may be supplied, to accelerate, for example, the setting, hardening, adhesion or drying of the materials applied through the nozzle a. Active gases such as carbon dioxide may be supplied through the compressed-air passages.
