Abstract

229,680. Lehmann, J. M. [Firm of]. Feb. 18, 1924, [Convention date]. Depositing machines ; feeding.-Chocolate &c. is supplied to a depositing machine, via an intermediate vessel, by a mechanical conveyer fitted with a temperature-controlling device. As shown, the chocolate is transferred from a hopper c by a conveyer b to an elevated intermediate vessel d and passes thence to the depositer e. The conveyer b comprises a rotary screw arranged within a cylinder a. Attemperating fluid is circulated through chambers in the wall of the cylinder and in the interior of the screw. The vessel d is also jacketted and is furnished with stirrers f. Modifications are described in which the conveyer comprises an endless chain carrying blades, or two sets of rollers.
