Fashioning. weaving to facilitate : hair fabrics: strengthening non-metallic strips, cords, and like lengths, fabric with; strengthened fabrics with integrally-woven portions having thicker or stronger yarns.-Interlacing or stiffening fabrics for coats &c. are cut from a composite fabric woven in long lengths with parts of different flexibility, so that the complete interlining for say one side of a coat may be cut from a single piece of fabric with the various parts thereof of the desired varying degrees of flexibility. The fabric may have cotton or wool warps and have lengths woven with wefts of long horse hair or of short horse hair spun into a firm weft usually with a mixture of cotton r,r wool alternating with lengths having wefts of goat hair or other short or soft hair spun into a more flexible weft. Instead of or in addition to using varying weft threads, varying warp threads may be used to produce variations in stiffness across the fabric.
