Pressure-relieving devices for fluids. - The pressure-relief pipe 4 of a transformer casing 3 or other oil-filled tank for electrical apparatus is closed by a diaphragm 5 of a brittle material such as glass or compressed shellac, which will rupture before being distorted to any considerable extent. The diaphragm is secured between gaskets by a ring 6, and a screen 7 may be provided at the outer end of the relief pipe.
