Abstract
228,983. Jensen, C. A., (Buckcye Steel Castings Co.). Nov. 12, 1923. Combined buffer and draw-gear comprises a draught plate 10 detachably secured to the rear end portion of a coupler shank 11, draught bolts 6 passing freely through a transverse beam 4 fixed to the car, and a pair of aligning springs 14, 9 on each bolt, one spring 14 of each pair bearing against the draught plate 10 and against the beam 4, and the other spring 9 bearing against the beam 4 and abutments 7. The draught plate 10 is provided with lugs 15 through which passes the key 17 securing the shank 11 to the draught plate 10. The lugs 15 may be horizontal or vertical.
