Mould materials.-Permanent iron moulds and runners, for casting non-ferrous metals, are lined by numerous applications of a wash composed of lampblack 17 parts, fireclay or other refractory substance 33 parts, sodium silicate or other heatresisting adhesive 5 parts, and water 45 or more parts. The mould should be kept at over 250‹ F. during the process. Specification 202,273 is referred to.
