Abstract

202,273. Meloche, D. H. Aug. 11, 1922, [Convention date]. Mould materials.-A coating for metal, particularly cast iron moulds, comprises a refractory material with a soluble silicate binder. Powdered pipeclay with an equal weight of 10 per cent of sodium silicate is applied in four or five coatings to the mould heated to 350‹ F. The coated mould is lampblacked between each coating as described in Specification 201,913.
