Abstract

The production of hydrocyanic acid from gaseous carbon and nitrogen compounds such as carbon monoxide and ammonia in the presence of a catalyst, is effected at pressure higher than atmospheric. The reaction mixture is preferably cooled as soon as possible after it has passed the catalyst. This may be effected by releasing the pressure. Specifications 207,830 and 223,918 are referred to.
