Abstract
An electric baking and roasting oven has a cooking chamber (2) which can be closed by a door (5) and is divided into two separate cooking chamber areas (9, 10) by a plate (8). The plate (8) can be inserted in the cooking chamber, can be connected to a power supply and is provided with a heating element (11) for underheating the upper cooking chamber area (9), the latter being provided at the top with a heating element (7) for over-heating. In order to increase the service value or usefulness of this baking and roasting oven, another heating element (12), which serves as an over-heater for the lower cooking chamber area (10), is incorporated in the cooking chamber dividing plate (8), and the lower cooking chamber area (10) is provided with an under-heating heating element (6). The heating of the lower cooking chamber area (10) is thermally controllable substantially independently of that of the upper cooking chamber area (9). Insulation (13) may be provided with a reflecting surface. <IMAGE>
Description
2267339 l_ Electric baking and roasting oven This invention relates to an
electric baking and roasting o. ven according to the preamble of claim 1.
A baking and roasting oven of this kind is known from DE 36 24 426 Al. The cooking chamber area below the cooking chamber dividing plate cannot be heated in this baking and roasting oven. This means that in practice this cooking chamber area can often only be used as a storage compartment for cooking and roasting utensils.
Taking this prior art as a basis, the object of the invention is to further increase the service value or usefulness of a baking and roasting oven of the type in question by simple means.
This object is solved according to the invention by the characterising part of claim 1.
Advantageous developments of the subject matter of this invention are presented in the subclaims.
DE 32 46 445 A1 discloses a baking and roasting oven comprising a heated plate which can be moved vertically in the cooking chamber (Figure 7), the latter comprising a heating element as an underheater. The heated dividing plate does not, however, comprise a heating element serving as an overheater for the lower cooking chamber area. This means that the latter cannot be used as a roasting oven which is separate from the upper cooking chamber area. The service value of this oven is therefore also greatly limited.
However the proposed measures result in a baking and roasting oven whose muffle can be converted through a division into two separate cooking chambers (roasting ovens) which can be operated at the same time. As a baking and roasting oven of this kind corresponds to the usual dimensions for built-in appliances, this does not require any additional space in the kitchen. Nor does a baking and roasting oven of this kind entail any additional expenditure on insulation and cooling measures, as is the case, f or example, of so-called double baking ovens (DE 28 25 461 Cl) with two oven muffles which are separate from one another. Moreover, unlike the known double baking oven, the baking and roasting oven according to the invention does not require a second baking oven door.
The invention is illustrated by way of example in the accompanying drawing, the single figure of which is a sectional elevation of a baking and roasting oven according to one embodiment of the invention.
The illustrated baking and roasting oven has an oven muffle 1, which defines a cooking chamber 2. The oven muffle 1 is surrounded by insulation 3. The loading opening 4 in the oven muffle 1 can be closed by a hinged door 5. The oven muf f le 1 is provided at the bottom and at the top with a respective heating element 6 and 7. The cooking chamber 2 can be divided into two separate cooking chamber areas 9 and 10 by a plate 8, which can be moved vertically in the cooking chamber.
The plate 8, which can be connected to a power supply inside the oven by way of a plug-in device, comprises two heating elements 11 and 12, which can be connected independently of one another. The two heating elements 11 and 12 are separated from one another by insulation 13. A trough-like recess 14 is formed in the insulation 13 for arranging or accommodating the heating element 12, which serves as an overheater for the lower cooking chamber area 10, in a space-saving manner. The insulation 13 is advantageously disposed accordingly and, if applicable, provided on both sides with a reflecting surface in order to keep the heat exchange between the two cooking chamber areas 9 and 10 as low as possible. The temperature sensor 15 of a thermal control circuit is associated with the lower cooking chamber area 10, which sensor is, however, advantageously accommodated inside this cooking chamber area. This arrangement enables the time constant of the thermal control circuit for the lower cooking chamber area to be kept low. The heating of the lower cooking chamber area 10 can therefore also be thermally controlled almost independently. of the heating of the 1 upper cooking chamber area 9. An appropriate lighting device may also be associated with the lower cooking chamber area 10 or muffle part. The upper cooking chamber area 9 may be designed for known operating modes such as hot-air operation, over- and under-heating. grilling and possibly also microwave operation.

Claims (7)
1. An electric baking and roasting oven with a cooking chamber which can be closed by a door and divided into two separate cooking chamber areas by a plate, which can be inserted in the cooking chamber and connected to a power supply and is provided with a heating element for under-heating the upper cooking chamber area, the latter being provided at the top with a heating element for over-heating, wherein another heating element which serves as an over-heater for.the lower cooking chamber area is incorporated in the cooking chamber dividing plate and the lower cooking chamber area is provided with an under-heating heating element, the heating of the lower cooking chamber area being thermally controllable substantially independently of that of the upper cooking chamber area.
2. A baking'and roasting oven according to claim 2, wherein the two heating elements in the cooking chamber dividing plate are separated from one another by insulation.
3. A baking and roasting oven according to claim 2, wherein a trough-like recess is formed in the insulation for the arrangement of the second heating element.
4. A baking and roasting oven according to claim 2 or 3, wherein the insulation comprises a reflecting surface on both sides.
5. A baking and roasting oven according to claim 1, wherein the temperature sensor of a control circuit is associated with the lower cooking chamber area.
6. A baking and roasting oven according to claim 5, wherein the temperature sensor is provided inside the lower cooking chamber area.
7. A baking and roasting oven according to claim 1, substantially as described herein with reference to the accompanying drawing.
