Abstract

226,649. Williams, W. F. Nov. 6, 1923. Road-traffic signals on vehicles; lamp signals; semaphore signals. - A direction indicator comprises a longitudinal shaft 21 supporting at the rear a semaphore arm 30 and at the front an arm 26 for day use and coloured glass screens 27, 28 which may be brought in front of the head lights for night use. The front indicators are carried in a socket 25 on a rod 24 curved to avoid the starting handle. The shaft 21 is turned through linkage by side movement of a spring-controlled handle which is secured in notches.
