Abstract

A compartment refuse bin has a main outer body with individual and removable compartments (15, Figs 2 and 7) to separate refuse for recycling purposes. The top cover (Fig 4) comprises of individual lids secured to the cover by means of hinge spigots (10 Fig 4) and hinge pins (11 Fig 5). The top cover (Fig 4) is placed on the main outer body in the correct position with the aid of location pin 13, which positions the individual lids in accordance with the individual compartments to ensure the source of refuse is placed in the correct compartment. The lids are provided with means of identification 12. <IMAGE>

Description

COMPARTMENT REFUSE BIN This invention relates to a compartment refuse bin.

Refuse bins are a well known household item used for waste disposal. The refuse bins available for use within the household are of a single compartment with no facility to separate refuse for recycling purposes.

t.csci-rdiind to the present invention tnere is a main outer body containing individual compartments which are removable. A top cover is provided for the outer body. The top cover is removable and comprises individual lids positioned in accordance with the individual compartments.

A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: SAMPLE 1 Figure 1 shows in perspective, the compartment refuse bin complete with top cover.

Figure 2 illustrates the separation of individual compartments from outer body.

Referring to the lid as illustrated in Fig 5. this is secured to the top cover as shown in Fig 4. by, for example a hinge spigot 10 and a hinge pin 11 or similar means (not shown).

for correct refuse disposal. a raised indent 12 is provided. of letters, pictures or similar means (not shown).

In order to place the top cover as illustrated in Fig 4.

correctly on the main outer body as shown in Fig 1. and Fig 6. a location pin 13 is provided.

The individual lid as illustrated in Fig 5. is opened k. a handle 14 or similar means (not shown).

In order to remove the individual compartments as illustrated in Fig 2. ant Fig 7. from the main outer body a safety @@p I- is provided.

Claims (7)

1 A compartment refuse bin comprising a main outer body containing individual compartments and a removable top cover with lids.

2 A compartment refuse bin as claimed in Claim 1 wherein safety iips are provided on the individual compartment for easy removal.

3 A compartment refuse bin as claimed in Claim 1 and Claim 2 the main outer body is provided with at least one location pin to correctly position top cover.

4 A compartment refuse bin as claimed in any preceding claim wherein the top cover is provided with lids..

5 X ccmu.artment refuse bin as claimed in Claim 1 wherein each lid is provided with at least one raised indent for identification purposes.

6 A compartment refuse bin as claimed in Claim 4 wherein each lid is provided with at least one handle.

7 A compartment refuse bin substantially as described herein with reference to Figures 1 - 8 of the accompanying drawings.
