Indicating by thermostatic devices. - The water level in a boiler is indicated by measuring the pressure of a fluid within a jacket around a tube in communication with the steam and water spaces of the boiler. A tube t, preferably made of steel, opens into the steam and water spaces of a boiler d and is surrounded by a closed jacket c containing water or other fluid. The jacket has external heatradiating corrugations or fins h. The pressure in the jacket varies with level of the water in the tube and is measured by a gauge k.
