224,896. Johne-Werk Grafische Maschinen-Akt.-Ges. Nov. 17, 1923, [Convention date]. Inking-apparatus. - The inking-rollers of a direct-printing platen press reciprocate between an ink cylinder above the type bed and a second ink cylinder below the type bed and roll once only over the forme for each impression, the circumference of the inking-rollers being not less than the length of the forme. One trough roller supplies ink to the two ink cylinders alternately by means of two messenger rollers and two sets of distributing-rollers. The linking-rollers 1, 2 reciprocate over the forme 3 between upper and lower ink cylinders 4, 5. Messenger rollers 6, 7, contacting alternately with the trough roller 8, deliver the ink to the ink cylinders by means of two sets of distributing-rollers 10, 12, 14, 16 and 9. 11, 13, 15.
