Abstract

224,730. Pettoello, D. Nov. 29, 1923. Bottles, non-refillable. - Relates to non-refillable bottles in which a valve is held on its seat by a spring beneath it and is protected by a superposed baffle device. The bottle neck is formed with a rim R on which a resilient ring A forms a seat for a valve B. The valve is held in the closed position by a spring H compressed between a stay E and the end F of the stem C of the valve. A baffle device L, comprising a hollow cylinder with a reduced neck N, and a perforated disc 0 with a downwardly projecting collar P, protect the valve, and are secured in position by pouring molten glass in a circular ring G. In a modification, the valve and baffle devices are assembled in a glass tube, the top of which is turned over the bottle neck and secured by glass seals.
