Multiple-delivery piston pumps; pumps for hot and volatile liquids.-A pumping plant comprises a pump 1 for hot liquid, a pump 2 for the same liquid at a lower temperature, means for operating the two pumps in synchronism, and valved pipes 13, 16 connecting the two barrels, so that, during each suction stroke, the vapour from the hot liquid entering the barrel 1 is drawn through the pipe 13 or 16 and condensed by the cold liquid entering the barrel 2. The pipes 13, 16 have two valves 18, 19 and 21, 22 opening in opposite directions during the suction strokes and closing during the delivery strokes. The barrels have inlets 7, 7<a>, 9, 9<a> and outlets 8, 8<a>, 10, 10<a> for the liquid.
