Abstract

Building fascia panel consisting of two plates (1, 2) between which a filling of insulating material (3) is inserted, the plates having in cross-section two asymmetrical surfaces, (12, 14; 22, 24) lying in different planes, with respective end elbows (11, 21), in which closure joints (4, 5) are placed, and in longitudinal section having at the sides a central cavity of "U" section (61, Fig. 3, not shown) and core orthogonal (23) to the plates; the said sides being hermetically sealed by complementary means. <IMAGE>

Description

"BUILDING FASCIA PANEL" This invention refers to improvements in the construction of prefabricated panels.
The panels are of the type consisting of two plates, generally of metal, between which a filler material is inserted, having thermal and acoustic insulating properties.
The finish offered by known panels at present makes them unsuitable for certain applications, where a light construction has to offer a more perfect finish, or at least one with better aesthetics, for example in building fascia applications.
Figure 1 represents a general schematic perspective view of a building fascia panel according to the invention.
Figure 2 represents a general schematic cross-sectional view of the building fascia panel in figure 1.
Figure 3 represents a lateral detail through section A-A in figure 2.
Figure 4 represents a variant of figure 3.
The building fascia panel according to the invention is of the type consisting of two plates (1) (2), generally of metal, between which a filling (3) of insulating material, such as polyurethane or similar, is placed.
The plates are defined as follows: a) one of the plates (1) forms successively, from one end, and according to the width of the panel: an an end '8U" elbow (11), - a flat section (12) of considerable width, - an orthogonal section (13), slightly inclined (angle (d ) to the vertical plane), - a flat section (14), of less width than flat section(l2), - an end "U" elbow (15); b) the other plate (2) forms successively from one end, and according to the width of the panel: - a first end "U" elbow (21), - a flat section (22), - an orthogonal section (23), - a flat section (24), of much greater width than flat section (22), - an end U elbow (25).
The orthogonal section (23) forms a large central loop (26) which will receive the end of the union element of the panel end on in the figures/with another identical one.
Laterally, the panel, as illustrated in figures 3 and 4, has a cavity (61) of "U" section which can be defined by: a) a false body (6) of elastic material, such as rubber, added to the filler material (3), which hermetically seals this part of the panel.
The plates (1) (2) are extended frontally or even (figure 3) inside the cavity (61) of the false body (6); b) the false body (6) is eliminated (figure 4), and the seal is made with a sectional shape (6") which covers both plates (1) (2) with its sides (611); c) in order to cut costs, the seal can also be made simply with a sealing material which extends laterally between the plates (1) (2) over the filler material (3).
Between the said pairs of elbows (11) (21) and (15) (25) closure joints (4) (5) are fitted, lying in different planes, and at least one of which (5) covers the front edge of the panel joint, abutting against the adjacent panel being connected.

Claims (7)

1. - Building fascia panel of the type consisting of two plates between which a filling of insulating material is inserted; characterised because: a) in cross-section one of the plates has two asymmetrical surface sections, lying in different planes, joined by a third slightly inclined orthogonal surface section, and finished off with respective end elbows; while the other plate has two asymmetrical sections in opposition to the former, lying in different planes, joined by a third orthogonal surface section with a central loop, and also finished off with respective end elbows; b) in longitudinal section it has, on at least one side, a central cavity of "U" section and core orthogonal to the plates; the said sides being hermetically sealed by complementary means; c) between the said pairs of elbows, closure joints are mounted in different planes, and at least one of them covers the front edge of the panel joint, abutting against the adjacent panel being connected.
2. - Building fascia panel according to the previous claim, characterised by the said lateral hermetic seal consisting of an added false body, of plastic material, which provides the central "U" section cavity and is held by the outlines of the plates themselves.
3. - Building fascia panel according to claim 2, characterised by the outlines of the plates holding the false body being, in each plate, an "L" section which covers the false body at the front, reaching as far as the end of the sides of its central cavity.
4. - Building fascia panel according to claim 2, characterised by the outlines of the plates holding the false body being, in each plate, a "U" section which covers the false body at the front, including the corresponding side of the central cavity.
5. - Building fascia panel according to claim 1, characterised by the said lateral hermetic seal consisting of a sealant which covers the said cavity and the rest of the wall, reaching the plates.
6. - Building fascia panel according to claim 1, characterised by the said lateral hermetic seal consisting of a lateral cover, which covers the said cavity and the rest of the wall, fitting into the plates.
7. - A building fascia panel as hereinbefore described with reference to the accompanying drawing.
