Description
RIMG PIn[PIIR'r PPPcRi2TUS :3 a -7 c3 53 soinnino aons- This invention
relates to a:4no ratus comprising a spindle, which 4 is areptEd to be driven and serves to hold a bobbin, and a cuide rina, which concentrically surrounds the spindle and the bobbin and serves to nuide a traveler, which is orovided with an eyelet for nuidina the incoming yarn.
In a rina sDinning apparatus, the rovina withdrawn from a drawino frame is delivered via a rino soinnina nuidE to a bobbin? which is non- rotatably mounted on a driven spindle. The rina sainnirq quids generally comcrises a travelEr, which concentricallv revolves an a cuidE rina about the bobbin and has two lens, which extend an opposite sides of the track for the travElEr and are fitted on the rinc. The travElEr is provided with an Eyelet for the yarn beina fed to the bobbin so that the traveler is rotated by the yarn as it moves to the rotating bobbin. Each revolution of the travElEr will result in a twisting of the yarn by one turn and the speed difference between the leading bobin and the lancing traveler will dEtE.rminE? the winding rate of the yarn. In cooperation with the forces for quiding the yarn, the cEntrifunal forces actina an the travEler and an the rovinn, which is nuided around the bobbin by the traveler and is twisted to form a yarn at the same time, will tend to tilt the traveler transversely to the track for the traveler and this will impose a restriction recardina the permissible scEed of the traveler in continuous operation.
1 Pesides, the conditions for the feerii-na of the yarn to the bobbin will chancs as the diamemer of thE bobbin Increases jecause the yarn is withdrawn from the quidinn eyelet of the traveler in a direction that is tanqEntial to the babin anr that direction will chance as the rliameter of the bobbin increases durina the windinc operation. That dependence of the conditions for the withdrawinci and windino of the yarn adjacent to the rina sainninn guide will channe the load an the yarn and this will be distrubinn narticularlV at hich traveler spEecs.
For -this reason it is an object of the inven- tion so to desian a ring spinning apparatus which is of the kind described first hereinbefore that high traveler speeds will be permissible and substantially constant conditions for the withdrawal of the yarn from the ring spinning guide to the bobbin will be ensured.
2 C3 That object is acccmolished in accordance with the invention in that the traveler consists of an annu lar member, which surrounds the bobbin and Engages the guide rinn and is succorted an the bobbin by means of bows, which Vieldably engene the bobbin, and one of said bows is provided with the quidina eyelet adjacent to that portion with which said bow encanes the bobbin.
Recause an annular member is provided, which surrounds the bobbin and is mounted to be rotatable re lative to the aulde rinp. the tiltino moment which is due to the yarn-quidinp forces can readily be taken up by the travEler. There is no unilateral loadino of a travElEr revolving an the guide ring by a cEntrifunal force and an outwardly acting cEntrifunal loadina will be avoided E if the travelEr is ratationally symmetrical. The additional succort of the annular member an the bobbin by means of the cows Ennaming the bobbin will relieve the guide rina so that high speeds will be aussible.
The bows must vieldably engage the bobbin so that the increase of the bobbin diameter resulting from the windina of the yarn can be taken un. The fact that the guiding Eyelet is provided an one bow on that nortion with which said bow encanes the bacbin will reduce to an insionificant extent the disturbing dependence of the conditions for the withdrawal of the yarn adjacent to the nuidinc Eyelet on the instantaneous diameter of the bobbin because the cuidina eyelet will hardly chanqe its position relative to the surface of the bobbin so that the conditions for the withdrawal of the yarn will be genErally constant even durino a rotation of the traveler at hich snEed.
2 [1 In accordance with a further feature of the invention a particularly simple design can be achieVed. in that the annular member of the traveler consists of at least two bows, which are interconnected at their ends and which ratationallV symmetrically surround the bobbin and have a cerioheral lenath which Exceeds that of the bobbin and resiliently encage the bobbin and are provided with sliders, which are held in the guide ring with a radial play. The fact that the bows have a larner peripheral lenoth than the bobbin will ensure a screading of the bows as the diameter of thEbabbin increases if the sliders are held in the cuide rinc with a radial clay so that the increase in diameter in one direction can be commensatEd by a corresponding decrease in diemeter in the other direction. Pecause the bows are resi35 11Ent, their enoacement with the bobbin will be main- tained indemendentlv of the instantaneous Cabbin diameter; that fact will be sinnificant for the feeding of the yarn to the bobbin through the guiding avelet armvideo an the bobbin-ennagina portion.
The bows of which the annular member of the travelsr is camDosEd must not only be able to revolve about the bobbin but also to be axially disolaced relative to the tobbin. For this reason the friction be- tween the bows and the bobbin must be taken into account. For instance, the bows may be provided with sliders an those martions which Engage the bobbin so that favorable slidina conditions will be obtained for the movement of the bows relative to the bobbin in the peripheral and axial directions.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described,by way of example only with reference to theaccompanying drawings in which:- Figure 1 is a diametical top plan showing a ring spinning apparatus partly broken away and with an empty bobbin; Figure 2 is a view which is similar to Figure 1 and shows the ring spinning apparatus with a full bobbin; Figure 3 is an enlarged sectional view taken on line III-III In Figure 2; Figure 4 Is a vertical sectional view taken on line IV-IV of Figure 1 and showing the ring spinning apparatus on a smaller scale; and Figure 5 is a vertical sectional view taken on line V-V in Figure 1 and also drawn to a smaller scale.
Z1.
1 The illustrated rinn sninninc apparatus essEntiallv comprises a spindle 2, which is driven by a wharvE 1 and holds a bobbin 3, which is fed via a ring spinning guide 5 with a yarn 4, which has been rnade from a drawn 1G ra ing. The ring spinning guide 5 comprises a guide ring 6 for guiding a traveler 7, which consists of an annular member, which surrounds the bobbin and in the illustra tive embodiment is composed of two bows 8, which resilient ly engage the bobbin 3. Each of said bows 6 consists of a spring, which has been bent to a V-shaDe and in the portion connecting its two lens carries a slider 9 where as the free ends of its legs are joined to the free lea ends of the opposite bow 8, as is particularly indicated in Figures 1 and 2 by the connectors 10. Pecause the bob bin 3 is rotationally symmetrically surrounded by the two bows 8 and the bows 8 have a larper peripheral length than the bobbin 3, the lens with which the bows 8 engage the bobbin 3 can be spread apart as the diameter of the bobbin increases in the course of the winding operation and, as a result, the sliders 9 will necessarily be moved radiallV inwardly and for that purpose must be,held with a radial play in the guide ring 6. To that and the guide ring 6 is U-shapEd in cross-section and has legs, be tween which the sliders 9 extend into the guide ring. To ensure between the sliders 9 and those legs of the guide rina 6 by which the sliders are axially restrained a play which is satisfactory under the conditions in a given case, the two lens of the quide ring 6, which is U-shaped in cross-section, may be adjustable relative to each other in the axial direction, as is indicated in Figure 3.
Durina the scinnina operation the varn 4 is fed to the traveler 7 throuch an eyelet 11 and a nuide rinc 12 for limitinn the deflection in.marted by cEntrifunal force to the yarn as it is formed. The yarn 4 moves throuch a nuidino EVElet 13, which is provided an the connector 10 in the rmnion in which two free lea Ends of the bows 3 are interconnected. Throuch the guidina Eyelet 13 the yarn 4 is tannEntially delivered to the bobbin 3. As the bobbin increases in diameter, the lens of the bows 8 are spread apart by the bobbin until the bows 8 have been moved from their initial position shown in Ficure 1 to a final position shown in FicurE 3. Durina that time the guiding Eyelet 13 is substantially maintained in position relative to the surface of the bobbin so that the ccnditions for the withdrawal of the yarn through the guide eyelet 13 cannot be changed in a manner which would adversely affect the spinning operation. As a result, the travElEr can be rotated at very high speed Even in continuous operation. Desirable slid ing conditions between the bows 8 and the surface of the bobbin can be provided if the lens of the bows 8 are providEd with sliders 14 in those portions of said legs which encamE the bobbin 3. In the illustrative EmbodimEnt said sliders consist of sleeves fitted an the lens of the bows.
