Gaff-hooks, landing-nets, and the like; rod rests and holders.-A combination appliance which can be used as a fishing-rod support or extended for use as a gaff-hook or net support comprises a number of sections slidably connected. Leg members 1 carry folded metal sleeves 4 slidable on members 3 which have sleeves 5 slidable on members 1. The members 1 carry a yoke 2 with inturned ends 2<a>, members 1, 2 being loosely connected to allow pivotal movement of the latter. The side members 3 are connected by an integral cross-piece 6 shaped to serve as a rest for a rod. Members 8 are slidable in sleeves 7 secured to the members 3, and members 10 the lower ends of which are formed as hooks are slidable in sleeves 9 secured to members 8. Members 8, 10 have hooked ends 8a, 10<a> which engage when the appliance is extended, as shown in Fig. 3, to serve as a gaff-hook or net support. Figs. 1 and 2 show the appliance collapsed, but with the legs 1 extended. For use as a rod support, the legs 1 are extended further than shown in Figs. 1 and 2, until the sleeves 4, 5 abut, and are then inserted in the ground. The rod is rested on the cross-piece 6 and the yoke swung upwards to engage over the end of the rod as shown in broken lines.
