Abstract

493,890. Smokers' ashreceptacles. BELLOW, E. A. June 21, 1937, Nos. 17203 and 17204. [Class 130] [Also in Group XIV] A device for supporting ash-trays on chair arms &c. comprising a flexible strip 1, Fig. 3, is provided with a rod or tube 2, having enlarged end portions 2a, outside the edges of the strip, connected to one end of the strip, which is rolled on the rod 2 to adjust its effective length. The rod 2 is pushed down between the cushion and the arms of the chair ; the parts 2a may be roughened or provided with a ribbed rubber cover 3. The ash-tray 4 is preferably detachably connected, and a weight 5 may be provided at the end of the strip. The ash-tray may be adjustable in position on the strip, e.g. by means of loops 4b, Fig. 9, through which the strip is passed, or by means of studs engaging in holes in the strip:
