Abstract
432,282. Golf-club caddy-bag supports. BAKER, R. W., The Nook, Brighton Road, Redhill, Surrey. Jan. 25, 1934, No. 2667. [Class 132 (ii)] A detachable golf-club caddy-bag support comprises a stiff sheet metal plate 1 having a spring hook 2 riveted thereto for engaging the collar of the bag and having hinged to it at 8 through angle brackets 5 a leg 9 with spaced feet 10 riveted thereto, a collapsable strut 14, 15 being hinged at one end to the leg 9 and at the other end to the plate 1. The brackets 5 have limbs 6 bent are-shape to form a support for the neck of the golf bag and the limbs 6 may have holes to permit attachment to the neck of the bag. The ends of the feet 10 are turned on themselves at 11 to prevent damage to the turf. The collapsable strut 14, 15 is hinged at 16 and the part 15 of the strut carries a lug 17 adapted to engage in a notch 18 in part 14, Fig. 3, to lock the strut in the extended position. The plate 1 is provided with a pair of slots 23 to receive the neck strap 4 of the golf bag, or the slots 23 may be omitted, the end of the plate 1 being inserted behind the neck strap, or alternatively a leather or other keeper 20, Fig. 6, may be provided on the bag into which the end of the plate is thrust. The lower end of the bag is provided with the usual leather and metal protection.
