Cars, propelling.-The engines, crew and other essential loads of an aeroplane are located in a car arranged in the axis of the machine or in proximity thereto, the cargo, passengers &c. being carried in laterally placed cars arranged on the wing structure. The central car may have one or more engines driving tractor or pusher propellers, or engines may be arranged on each side of and as close to the central car as the diameter of the propellers will admit, or sets of engines driving two or more tractive propellers simultaneously with two or more pusher propellers may be used, or engines in the central car or in proximity thereto may drive laterally placed propellers.
