Abstract

223,027. Stewart, H. A. Sept. 10, 1923. Drilling-machines.-In a device for boring taper holes, the tool-holder 31 is pivoted at 30 in a rotary sleeve 27 and carries a shank 33 having a head 34 which slides in an inclined channel member 22. One end of the member 22 is pivoted at 23 in a sleeve 15 slidably keyed to the sleeve 27 and driven by gearing 3, and the other end is adjustably supported by blocks 20 on a screwed shaft 19 carried by the sleeve 15, adjustment of the screw 19 serving to vary the angle of taper. The sleeve 27 is fed axially by a yoke 13 and a hand or power operated screw 7.
