Abstract

222,963. Lewis's, Ltd., and Foley, C. July 12, 1923. Hair, special drying-appliances for.- Apparatus for the treatment of the hair comprises a box having an opening into which the back of the head is fitted and provided with a spark gap for producing ozone by high-tension electric discharges. Coloured electric lamps for the treatment of the hair by light may also be provided. The apparatus comprises a rectangular box 1, with the lower front part cut away and a sloping wall 2 inserted. In the upper front part is an aperture 3, into which the back of the patient's head is ,fitted by means of a towel 4. The hair is spread on the sloping wall 2. An induction coil contained in a box 6 is connected t'o adjustable electrodes 7, 8 projecting inside the box. Other features comprise electrically-heated filaments 11; red and blue electric lamps 13, the lamps of each colour being connected to separate switches; an electric fan 17 ; a door 19; a. thermometer 25; and handles 24. The box is carried on a pillar 20 adjustable on a base 22 having castors 23.
