Abstract

699,881. Therapeutic. radiation apparatus. ROUAT, R. Nov. 20, 1951 [Sept. 5, 1951], No. 21027/51. Class 81 (ii). A light-treatment cabinet comprises a table 1 having a fixed hood 5 at the lower end and a movable hood 8 attached thereto by a transverse hinge 7. There is also means for holding the hood 8 raised in various positions. An adjustable rest 9 is provided to act as a head support when the patient is recumbent or as a back rest when sitting. The movement of the hood 8 enables radiation from a lamp 40 to be directed on the whole or only part of the body. Heaters 57 are located below the couch and lateral apertures direct air therefrom to the interior of the hood. Side channels are provided to receive any perspiration. The internal surfaces of the hoods are covered with reflecting material and apertures are provided in the end panel through which the patient's hands may project when he is completely enclosed.
