222,221. Wood, L. A., and Minerals Separation, Ltd. June 29, 1923. Travelling-band presses.-Wet pulverized coal, the particles of which have been coated with oils, tars, or the like, in the manner described in Specifications 155,875, 185,216, 189,220, 189,221 and 193,947, [Class 82 (ii), Washing granular &c.] is dewatered by subjecting a layer of the coal to rolling pressure while supported upon a layer of porous fabric, such as coco-nut matting. As shown in the Figure, the coal is fed in an horizontal or upwardly inclined direction into the space between superposed endless travelling- bands provided with adjustably mounted pressing-rollers N, P, the upper rollers being weighted.
