Abstract
222,016. Wild, W. Jan. 12,1924. Utilizing waste rubber.-Waste vulcanized rubber is ground to a fine crumb, mixed with litharge and sulphur and optionally with an accelerator, and heated in a mould to a temperature exceeding 300‹ F. while a pressure of 1-1¢ tons per sq. in. is applied. To 100 parts of the rubber 5 parts of litharge, 10 parts of sulphur, and 1-2 parts of accelerator may be added.
