Disinfectiang - chambers of the kind comprising a steam jacket and a hot-air jacket are provided with a four-way valve for controlling the operations of exhausting, admitting steam and admitting air. The water and steam jacket 17 is surrounded by an air jacket 19, heating means (not shown), being provided. A four-way valve 24 is arranged to connect the interior of the sterilizer with a steam ejector 28, the steam jacket 17 or a hot air supply tube 20 as desired.
