Description
I.
2212210 Mounting Disposed in Concealed Fashion in the Groove for Pivot Bearings, in Particular Tilting Pivot Bearings for the Casements of Windows, Doors or the like The invention relates to a mounting disposed in concealed fashion in the groove for pivot bearings, in particular tilting pivot bearings f or the casements of windows, doors or the like which has the features according to the preamble of claim 1.
Various embodiments of such pivot bearings are known (cf. e.g. DE-AS 21 13 665 and DE-PS 34 42 364). In these mountings the casement is supported on the window frame exclusively via the links and moved reliably about predetermined axes by the links upon the carrying out of casement movements. The rods have to be able of receiving the entire casement weight and of reliably transmitting it to the window frame. The bearing capacity of the lower bearing receiving the main load, which is designed in the known cases as a corner bearing suited for pivoting and tilting, is essential. It is essential that the forces are received by the links of the lower bearing and reliably transmitted from the casement to these links and from the same to the window frame. It is also already known in such a mounting to design one of the linking journals via which one of the two links associated to the lower casement edge is linked to the fastening plate, as an extended journal extending in parallel to the swivelling axis, which engages into a bearing bore of an enlarged section of a vertical leg of the fastening plate. A threaded stem which can be screwed in the vertical leg of the fastening plate is provided for height adjustment, which is supported on the linking journal. By rotating the threaded stem, e.g. by means of a hexagon socket screw key, the casement can be lifted or lowered. Like the mounting itself this adjusting means is disposed in the groove in concealed fashion and is easily accessible despite this concealed arrangement (cf. DE-OS 36 01 278).
Practice has shown that such a height adjustment of the lower corner bearing and thus of the casement is of great advantage for the installation works and for a subsequent correction of the casement position, but is not always sufficient for being able to sufficiently correct stop or production errors or to compensate for a sinking of the window casement taking place in the course of time.
For this reason it is the object of the invention to further-develop a mounting having the features of the preamble in such fashion that without reducing the bearing capacity of the lower bearing and irrespective of a possibly existing height adjustability of the lower corner bearing a further adjusting possibility of the bearing can be made available.
This object is accomplished by the teaching of claim l v - 1 It is known per se in the case of tilting pivot mountings mounted so that they rest externally on the window frame to provide adjustment possibilities in several directions. However, the lower corner bearings have a design different from that of the mountings of the type in question disposed in the groove in concealed fashion and described in more detail at the beginning. in the last-mentioned mounting the adjusting possibilities which are known from supported tilting pivot mounting cannot be adopted and implemented. This results from the fact that in the mountings in question the lower corner bearing also has several links determining the swivelling axle, which are exactly coordinated with respect to their position to each other and to the links of the upper corner bearing. This mutual position coordination must not be influenced during an adjustment.
It is also known per se to provide an adjusting possibility in an upper bearing with push-out arm, because in this case only the length of the push-out arm or its linking point at the window f rame must be made' adjustable (cf. DE-GM 76 00 276). Such a measure cannot be used in the two links of the lower corner bearing of the mountings of the genus which determine the swivelling axle, because the position coordination of the links with respect to each other and to the other corner bearing would be disturbed.
It is also known per se that it is possible to adjustably fasten a fastening or base plate to the window frame in the case of rotary shears. For this purpose oblong holes are provided through which the fastening screws engage. However, these screws must be loosened and a locking screw securing the adjusted position must be removed, which engages through a simple hole and not through an oblong hole of the fastening plate. After the adjustment the screws must be tightened again and the safety screw must be screwed in again (cf. e.g. GB-OS 21 27 092).
As compared with this the invention provides that the base plate is additionally supported on the window frame by an adjusting and abutment means. The same may be an adjusting screw active in the adjusting direction, i.e. in longitudinal direction of the groove or advantageously the means according to claim 3.
Surprisingly it became apparent that in such a design the base plate can be adjusted reliably and very accurately in the groove of the window frame without the fastening elements engaging through the longitudinal slots of the base plate such as screws must be loosened. A sufficient displacement force can rather be exerted on the base plate by means of an adjusting eccentric in order to accurately and reliably displace the same at the window frame also with firmly tightened screws. At the same time the adjusting eccentric ensures that the adjusted position of the base plate reliably maintains the adjusted position also under the action of the forces occurring during the pivoting of the casement. The adjusting means such as the eccentric thus does not only act as an adjusting means, but also as an abutment to receive and transmit the displacement forces acting on the base plate to the window frame without it being possible that the base plate is adjusted unintentionally.
By means of the new measure it is ensured that the coordinated mutual position of the rods of the lower Y 1 corner bearing is maintained unchanged and is also not changed in any disturbing f ashion with respect to the position of the links of the upper bearing.
In this fashion a safe and simple adjusting possibility acting in the longitudinal direction of the groove is implemented for the first time in mountings of the type in question which are disposed An the groove in concealed fashion. It is also readily evident that this adjusting possibility can be provided and implemented irrespective of a height adjustment of the casing provided in the sense of the DE-OS 36 01 278 for a mounting of the type in question.
The base plate may be designed according to claim 2 and be displaceably connected to the window frame in adjusting direction so that forces occurring vertically to the casement plane can still be better transmitted by the base plate to the window frame.
Since the links serving for determining the swivelling axle are relatively short and are linked to the casement frame in close vicinity and since it should be ensured that the lower corner bearing always reaches the pivot open position sooner than the upper bearing, it may be suitable to let a braking and stop arm act between window frame and casement frame, which is known per se in addition to the links. If such an additional arm is provided it is suitable to dispose it according to claim 6. It is ensured by this that the position of this arm is also maintained unchanged with respect to the stops despite the adjustment of the lower corner bearing so that also the coordination of the stop times of the lower corner bearing remains unimpaired with respect to the upper bearing.
The new mounting can be operated extremely simply and easily, because no steps are necessary to detach or loosen the base plate with respect to the window frame and since no attention must be paid to the position coordination of the links during adjustment.
The invention is explained in more detail in the following by means of schematic drawings and an example of embodiment.
Fig. 1 shows a view of the mounting according to the invention with the line of sight vertically to the plane of the window frame, namely with closed position of the casement.
Fig. 2 shows a top view of the mounting while the casement is in the pivot open position.
Fig. 3 shows a longitudinal section along the sectional line III-III of Fig. 2.
Fig. 4 shows a top view of the area of the mounting which is repreented in Fig. 3 and Fig. 5 shows a cross-section through the adjusting eccentric.
The casement 2 is supported on the window f rame 1 in the area of its lower casement edge by means of the mounting according to the invention. For this purpose the mounting has a fastening plate 6 which may be fastened to the lower casement edge, in the area of the cl 7 1 the groove e.g. by means of screws. In the represented example the fastening plate is of an angular design and has an arm section 6a which is designed in reinforced fashion. A bore is disposed in them, which is disposed in parallel to the swivelling axle of the casement 2 and into which the extension 7 of a linked journal of a short link 9 engages, which is supports together with the second link 12 the casement on the window f rame 1 and determines the swivelling axle of the casement. The end of the extended pivot 7 is supported by a stud 8, which can be screwed into the leg 6a and serves for the fine adjustment of the height position of the casement 2 with respect to the window frame 1.
The two links 9 and 12 are in each case f irmly linked to the horizontal leg of the fastening plate 6. The additional arm 22 shown in the Figs. is not a part of the actual lower corner bearing. It serves rather only for decelerating the casement movement or for its limitation and cooperates for this purpose with the stops provided on the fastening plate 6. For this purpose the arm 22 is displaceably guided on the fastening plate 6 by means of a braking and sliding element 25, to which also the links 9 and 12 are linked and cooperates with movement stops of the fastening plate 6 as it is represented for the open position according to Fig. 2 at 26.
The links 9 and 12 and the arm 22 are in each case f irmly linked to a base plate, which in turn is f ixed to the horizontal string piece 4 of the window frame. The linking points of the links 9 and 12 are designated with 10 and 15 and the linking point 22 is designated with 23. It is important that the arm is firmly linked to the same base plate 18, as this is shown, to which also the two links 9 and 12 are linked.
In the represented example the base plate 18 is fixed to the horizontal string piece 4 of the window frame 1 by means of screws 20. The screws engage through oblong holes 19 of the base plate. Therefore the base plate could be adjusted in the direction of the double arrow 50 with respect to the window 1, by loosening the screws 20 and displacing the base plate correspondingly and thereafter tightening the screws 20 again. However, practice shows that this is extremely time-consuming and above all does not guarantee that the base plate is not unintentlonally - adjusted under the forces occurring upon the pivoting of the casement in the direction of the double arrow 50.
In the preferred example of embodiment the base plate 18 is therefore additionally connected to the window frame 1 via an adjusting and abutment means 30, which has a double task: On the one hand it serves for sensitively and reliably adjusting the base plate 18 in the direction of the double arrow 50, namely with such a force that a loosening or even detaching of the fastening screws 20 of the base plate is not necessary for thd adjusting. It has furthermore the task to reliably receive all forces transmitted to the base plate 18 via the casement and acting in the direction of the double arrow and to transmit them to the horizontal string piece 4 of the window frame 1 without an unintentional displacement of the base plate 18 in the direction of the double arrow 50 occurring.
The adjusting and abutment means 30 has a plate 31, which is firmly anchored on the horizontal string piece 4 of the window f rame 1. The extended end 18a of the base plate 18 is held and guided in such f ashion on this plate 31 that the end 18a can only carry out movements with respect to the plate 31 in the direction of the double arrow 50. The extended end 18a and the plate 31 are jointly fastened to the string piece 4 of the window frame 1 in the represented example. For this purpose firmly rivetted bushings 34 are provided at the plate 31, which engage with an intermediate shaft section in oblong holes 36 of the section 18a and hold with enlarged heads 34 the section 18a in firm support on the plate 31. Fastening screws engage through the bushings 34 in the direction of the dotted line 32 which serve for the joint fastening of the section 18a and the plate 31 to the string piece 4. An adjusting eccentric 35 is rotatably mounted on the plate 31. The same engages with its eccentric section into a corresponding recess 43 of the extension 18a of the base plate 18. The adjustment of the eccentric can be effected simply and reliably e.g. by means of a hexagon socket screw key.
Instead of the eccentric an adjusting screw disposed in the direction of the double arrow 50 and guided on the plate 31 rotatably, but non-di splace ably can be used, which engages in a threaded bore of a lug of the extension 18a of the base plate 18. Due to the little space in the groove the represented design in the form of an adjusting eccentric is preferred.
The adjustment of the base plate 18 in the direction of the double arrow 50 is effected sensitively and without the necessity of detaching or even loosening the screws or the screws 32 by means of the adjusting eccentric 35. On the other hand the adjusting eccentric can reliably receive all forces acting on the base plate 18 and causing an unintentional displacement of the base plate and transmit them via the plate 31 to the string piece 4 of the window frame. The adjusting eccentric can also be provided in the area between the linking points 10 end 15.
The base plate 18 has in the area of the window frame corner 3 a vertical leg 18b which is fixed to the perpendicular string piece of the window frame so that forces acting vertically to the window frame plane can also be reliably received. This fixing is effected without hindering the adjusting possibility. For this purpose a guide element 46 being in parallel to the adjusting direction 50 is rigidly fixed by means of the screw 45 in the groove at the vertical string piece. The leg 18b slides on this guide element with an opening in narrow sliding fit so that the base plate 18 can be adjusted in the direction of the double arrow 50 without being hindered by this fixing point and nevertheless the leg 18b and thus the base plate can additionally transmit forces acting on the casement also to- the perpendicular string piece of the window frame corner 3.
The cross-section of the eccentric adjusting means is shown in Fig. 5. The rotational axis of the eccentric is designated with 41, which is rotatably rivetted to the plate 31 with the shaft 42. The eccentric section 40 engages in the recess 43, while the enlarged eccentric head rests on the upper side of the section 18a of the base plate.
