Abstract
The method consists in that a slag bath (2) is prepared in a forming sleeve (1) which serves as the first layer of the bimetallic article and then the metal of the second layer of the bimetallic article is built up on the sleeve (1) by means of slag welding with a consumable electrode (3). The temperature within the zone of the slag bath (2) is continuously measured and maintained at 0.6 to 0.9 of the melting point of the metal of the sleeve (1).
