Abstract

Radioactive receptables are made by mixing substantially equal proportions of radioactive ore and earth, such as clay, moulding the plastic mass to the desired shape, and finally drying and baking it. To render manufactured receptacles radioactive, a mixture of radioactive ore and Portland cement, in proportions of about two to one, is applied as a lining to the receptacle and allowed to dry by evaporation.
