Abstract

The invention concerns a cut-off device for textiles and/or synthetic materials, paper or leather which is carried by a guide equipment 10 on which the device can be moved back and forth. It has a runner 12 with a minimum of two disc blades, placed at a distance from each other. Their cutting lines form a common straight line. The distance x which the runner covers while moving there and back, is longer than the maximum distance y between two adjoining blades, as well as the distance z of the runner from both edges of the material, defined by the blades. The discs may be rotated by a common motor and the drive for the runner may be a linear motor or magnetic means. The runner may carry grinding means for the discs. <IMAGE>

Description

DESCRIPIION CUT - OFF DEVICE The invention concerns a cut - off device for textiles and/or synthetic materials, paper or leather which is carried by a guide equipment, on which it can be moved there and back.
The cut-off device, as described above, is regularly used in ware houses or in special shops for cutting textile or carpet rolls. Similar equipments can also be used for winding mashines for textile rolls with change of rolls without interruption. For this, the cut-off device is regularly fixed with an electric motor and a rotating circular knifes. The user can move it there and back on a guide band with a slot, in which the circular knifes misplaced. If the rolls which have to be cutt are several meters of width it is not only complicated to cut them but also uncertain that the cutting line goes off as requested. Besides, the cutting operation needs more time which is also unsuitable. The demand on a winding maschine is that the cutting operation can be done within a few tenths of seconds to continue the winding up of the rolls practically without interruption.
It is the sense of the invention to develop a cut-off device, as described above, without unsuitable constructive expenditure so that the handling is much easier, that the materials can be cutt in any desired width and that the cutting-operation takes only a little time.
The task is solved by the invention in the manner that the cut-off device has a runner with minimum two circular knife, placed with distance to each other, that their cutting lines define a common straight line, and that the length of distance which the runner laps while moving there and back, is longer than the maximum distance of two contiguous circular knife as well as the distance of the runner to both edges of the material, defined by the circular knifes.
It is to be understood that the invention has the signification to cutt the material by means of several circular knifes, so that the runner has to pass a small distance at one moving there and back. The cut consists, so far, of the sums of single cuts which are made by the circular knifes. Since the length of distance which the runner laps, in regard to the width of the roll, is abviously shorter, the literal cutting process needs there fore a relative snort time.
Further practical and advantageous measures of the invention are mentioned in the subtitles.
A special practical measure of the invention provides that the circular knife are orbicularly and rotate with a high speed. The special advantage of this realization of the invention is that the cut of the material is connected with a proper cutting line. At a sufficient high speed the tearing out of pieces from the material, which could cause a prejudical further processing of the material (p.e. carpet floor), can be avoided. Such blades are known so that the choice of the fitting blades is left to the professional man. In the scope of this invention it is suitable that the circular knifes are driven on by a common motor. The measures can also be taken in the manner that the shafts of the blades carry wheels which are connected with them, fast of torsion, and which are driven on by means of belts, chains, shafts a.s.o.Each blade can, of course, be driven on separately, namely thereby that the number of motors are the same as the number of the rotating blades. The advantage could be that several small motors with less speed can be placed in the runner.
To be sure that the cutting line is proper, it is advised that the parts of the circular knifes, directed to the material, have a common,#preferable horizontal tangent. The point is here that, understanding that the material to be cut has a plain surface in the scope of the cutting line, that blades bite into the material synchronously. An especially practical measure of the invention plans that there are more than fife knifes and thst the distance of the first knife to the last one ist longer than the third of width of the material.
Being able to move the runner there and back easily, a further measure of the invention provides that the runner works together with a linear motor, fixed by a Press are medium. The drive of the runner can also be made otherwise, namely that tbe runner is moved there and back on the guide equipment by means of magnetic power. The latter realization of the invention has the advantage that the parts are actually resistant to wear and tear since there is no mechanical contact of the motor with the runner. If it concerns a motor at which the magnetic power is variable, the speed of the runner can also be timed as required.
Another practical measure of the invention provides that the runner has wheels which roll- up on the material. The blades are fixed between them. It is possible thereby that the wheels press the material against the cutting table so that the material is stretched during the cutting operation. Another practical measure of the invention considers that the runner is carried by a clamp and can be slided vertically resp. horizontally. This measure makes it possible to develop the cutting equipment movable which is indepedent from the width of the material.
Concerning the attendance it is suitable that a grinder for the blades is placed in the runner.
A realization example of the invention is exatly described in the drawing.
It shows Fig. 1 a side view of the cut-off device and Fig. 2 a view of the cut-off device in directed of the arrow II, according to Fig. 1.
The figures show a cut-off device for textiles and/or synthetic materials, paper or leather which is carried by a guide equipment 10, on which it can be moved there and back. The cut-off device has a runner 12 with fife knifes 13 to 17, placed with distance to each other..The cutting lines them define a common straight line. The length of the distance x, which the runner 12 laps, while moving there and back, is longer than the maximum distance y of two adjoining blades 15, 16 as well as the distances z of the runner 12 from both edges 20,20 'of the material 22, fixed by the blades 13. In the realization example in question, the blades 13 to 17 are orbicular and rotate with a high sped. The knife 13 to 17 are driven on by a commun motor 23 by means of belts or chains 24.For this, wheels 30,31 abd 33 are provided which works together with the V-belt 24. The required tension of the belt 24 is regulated by means of wheels, 38,40 which can be adjusted in vertical direction. The parts of the circularnifs 13 to 17, directed toward the material 242, mark a common tangent. he advantage is that at the vertical moving of the runner 12 downwards, it is certain that the knifes 13 to 17 bite synchronously into the material.
It is to notice that at the realization example in question fife blades 13 to 17 are planned but the number of these knife can be increased resp. diminished as required. ln case of a great number of blades, which are placed with a short distance to each other, the runner 12 can make short movings there and back,, thereby the cutting process is obviously shorter. The runner 12 cans works together with a linear motor 44 which is fixed by a pressure medium. But it can also be driven on by a motor at which the movings there and back of the runner 12 are conditioned by change of the range of a megnetic field.
As, in particular, Fig. 2 shows, the guide equipment consists of two precision full shafts 50/52 which are connected with a carrier 56 by means of straps 52,54.
Un both ends of the carrier 56 an adapter 60,52.is placed which make it possible to move the carrier 56 there and back vertically. This movement is important for the beginning and for the end of the cutting operation. During the stop of the cut-off device, the blades 13 to 17 are above the material 42.
The cutting operation is carried out in the manner that, first of all, the knife 13 to 17 are brought to a high speed. Afterwards the carrier 56 is moved to the direction of the arrow 60 until the blade have cut the material 42.
After that, the runner is moved there and back on time in the direction of the double arrow 62. Finally the carrier 56 is moved in its initial position, in direction of the arrow 64.
The cutting process can be fully automated so that the cutting process can be carried out bv Dressina a button. - -
