Abstract

Rotary filters.-A narrow strip a closely approaching the filtering-medium and tangential thereto is provided for deflecting froth, foam and uneven wet masses, and for regulating the thickness of the cake formed, the strip being supported by rods d hinged on a shaft e on the top facing of the filter vat. The strip is mounted on the rods d in such a manner that the height of the strip above the liquid in the vat and its inclination to the surface of the drum can be regulated. A more sensitive adjustment can be made by means of screwed spindles i which screw through collars on the rods d and have their lower ends bearing against fixed brackets l. The strip and its supports can be turned about the shaft e to rest clear of the drum.
