Cameras with focal plane making-devices; identification and designation marks, producing on negatives by exposure.-Relates to cameras in which, in order to produce images of less than normal size, a mask 4 having an aperture 5 smaller than the focal aperture 3 is inserted through a light-trapped slot 1 in the wall of the camera into position in front of the aperture 3, so that the centre of the aperture 5 lies in the optic axis of the objective. According to the invention (1) the mask 4, adapted for example to produce pictures of half normal size, has a bentover part 10 carrying marks b, c with which the exposure numbers on the back of the film, viewed through a non-actinic window 8 in the camera back, are registered successively, and (2) the mark 4 may have a slot adjacent to its aperture 5 and enclosing a sheet of celluloid, mica, &c. on which inscriptions may be written, in pencil or effaceable ink, for impression on the film during exposure. The exposure numbers on the film are registered with a mark a on the camera for fullsize pictures.
