Abstract

219,467. Lavers, N. L. June 27, 1923. Pattern books.-In books or like devices for displaying colours or shades of colour, for instance of inks and paints, on superimposed sheets or leaves, all the sheets except the bottom one are provided with one or more sight openings to display all the colours at once. The openings are out of register with overlapping margins when the sheets are in register, and may be of the same size and shape but successively displaced. Six sheets b - - g, Fig. 3, each carrying six colour panels 6 may be pivoted by a stud 4 to the central part 1 of a cover having folding sides 2, 3 also carrying colour panels 5, the folded cover being long and narrow to facilitate carrying in the pocket. Each of the sheets except the bottom one g has six circular openings 7, one in each panel 6, the openings being successively displaced towards the right as shown in Fig. 3, so that, when the sheets are in register, all the colours are displayed on the overlapping margins, as shown in Fig. 2. The panels may be fully inspected by bending the sheets, if they are of paper, or by opening them out as shown in Fig. 3.
