Abstract
219,340. Eveno, G. July 20, 1923, [Convention date]. Vehicle-axle bearings; axle-box shields.-The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises the provision in an axle-box of longitudinal ribs 11, Fig. 2, which prevent movement of the bush 3 around the axle when subjected to shocks. A two-part dustguard 12, 13 is mounted in a casing provided with removable covers 14, Fig. 1. The members 12, 13 have overlapping parts shaped as shown in Figs. 5 (Cancelled), 6 (Cancelled), and are maintained in position relative to each other by cheeks 15 on the lower member 13 which enclose the upper member 12. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted. Oil in the well 4 is prevented from escaping into the dust-guard casing by a partition 17, Figs. 1 and 2, secured to the bottom cover 14.
