Abstract

218,848. Wildt & Co., Ltd., and Walker, F. W. July 19, 1923. Circular machines.-Pattern wheels for acting on slidable needles are provided with bits 1 disposed in radial tricks in a disc 2 and capable of being moved by a sliding action from an operative to an inoperative position and of being fixed in either position. The bits are held in place by a spring ring 4 engaging either of two notches 3 in each bit and the ring is held in place by a cap 9 and nut 10 screwing on the hub 11 of the wheel. The ring can be sprung sufficiently to allow the bits to take up the position desired without it being necessary to remove them entirely. The cap may be provided with an annular ridge to take the place of the ring or the bits may be provided with butts &c. to engage annular notches &c. in the cap 9 or disc 2.
