Abstract

218,495. Sieurin, S. E. July 17, 1923. Refractory substances containing chamotte.- Fire-proof bricks are composed of coarse grains of chamotte and a finely divided binder consisting of fire-clay to which silicic acid is added if necessary to bring its silicic acid content to 73-90 per cent. The quantity of binder is usually 30-60 per cent by weight of that of the chamotte.
