Abstract

A conductance tester (e.g. for transformer windings) comprising a hand holdable elongate housing having at one end a test probe 12 substantially fixed relative to the housing and electrically coupled to a test circuit contained within the housing. A battery compartment is contained within the housing and a test initiatory device 16 accessable externally of the housing is secured in operative association with the test circuit. A wander test probe 20,24 is electrically coupled to the test circuit via a flexible cable 22, and an indicator 6 is provided which is adapted to be fed with battery power via the test circuit whereby a signal is produced consequent upon operation of the test initiatory device when the impedance between the probes is less than a predetermined value. <IMAGE>
