Abstract

217,152. Press Caps, Ltd., and Lang, A. A. D. Jan. 9, 1924. Capsules and like closures.-In a closure member for bottles, jars, &c. of the type described in Specifications 23843/12, 105,547, and 201,899 and comprising a bulged central portion adapted to be sprung selectively to ether sde of a plane to cause marginal gripping fingers to contract to a closing or spread to a releasing position, the central bulged portion 1 is formed with an annular area 3 offset upwardly therefrom so that the volume enclosed between the bulged portion 1 and the plane X-X to the two sides of which it is displaced, is greater when the bulged portion is at the closed position, Fig. 1, than when it is at the open position, Fig. 2. This arrangement facilitates the movement of the closure from the open to the closed position.
