Abstract

217,011. Adamson, E. May 7, 1923. Self-levelling apparatus.-A garden chair or seat of the kind which is gimbal-mounted so as to be capable of an independent rocking movement in two vertical planes at right angles, comprises a base 1 supporting brackets 6 in which is mounted a rod 5 passing through bosses 4a in a gimbal plate 4, the second pair of pivots which are substantially in the same plane as the bosses 4<a> and work in brackets 8 depending from angle irons 9 forming the base of the seat. The seat is restored to its central position by springs 13 engaging eyes 15 on the base, the upper ends being led to one of a series of holes 14 on the angle irons 9. Stops may be provided to limit the angular movement of the seat in all directions.
