Type-lever machines. - Relates to machines in which the type-levers strike an anvil or stop when the types are adjacent to the platen, and then spring for impression, and consists in forming the type-levers 1 with an open slot 12 to provide a resilient tongue 11 for striking the anvil 19. The tongues reduce noise, and, by virtually increasing the length of the type-levers, cause the types to print evenly; moreover, the tongues facilitate assembling, since the limits of adjustment can be increased. The tongues may be in the planes of the type-levers. or at the side thereof; to prevent twisting of the type-levers, the tongues may be arranged on the sides opposite to the bends 18 carrying the type-heads 9. The segment 4 may be formed with a dust-guard 6 extending into slots in the type-levers.
