Type-lever actions.-In actions in which typelevers, actuated by key-levers, are provided at the ends with returning-springs, the type-levers are .each connected to a rigid part of the machine by a device, such as a toggle, for arresting the typelever without impact and independently of the platen. In the action shown, the type-lever 10 is connected by a toggle 25, 26 to an adjustable block 27 on the framework 24 The block may be provided with a spring 30 for engaging the toggle and with a rest 29 for the type-lever. The type-lever is actuated with an accelerated stroke by a bell-crank 17 which is connected by a link 20 to the key-lever 4 and is formed with a cam face 16 for engaging a face 15 on the typelever.
