The pulley is frictionally mounted on a cone 10<a>, spring-pressed into engagement with the fixed conical socket 12<a>. The clutch 10<a>, 12<a> is released on the first movement of the handle by one or more balls 18 riding in spherical recesses between the member 14 fixed on the spindle and bearings &c. 17 in the cone.
